Terms&Conditions - Short Story Contest
• The “Short Story writing Contest” (hereinafter referred to as Contest) is open to anyone who register on the WAP site of ibibo Web Pvt. Ltd. (“Company”), being a resident of India and above 18 years of age (“Contestant”).

• The term of the Contest shall be from 15 May 2009 to 30 June 2009 (“term”).
• To be eligible for the Contest, each Contestant will have to create his/her original short story in any form, style or theme (“story (ies)”) and submit the same on the Company’s WAP site. All stories must be in English language only. Character count for the stories submitted should be between minimum 200 to maximum 1500 characters.
• Previously published stories in other contests, books, magazines, etc shall not be valid and shall not be considered by the Company.
• A Contestant may submit any number of stories as long as they are his/her original works. Duplicate entries shall be deleted by the Company.
• Last date for submission of stories is 25 June 2009.
• Stories created as part of this Contest shall be in consonance with the terms and conditions enlisted on the WAP site and shall in no manner be illegal, defamatory, obscene, and pornographic or which infringe the confidentiality, privacy or intellectual property rights of any third party or which could otherwise be considered objectionable.
• Contestants agree that the stories created as part of this Contest shall be his/her original creation and shall not be copied, pasted, infringed, duplicated, from any other source. The Contestant agrees to indemnify the Company at all times in future against any issue arising herein.
• Stories found violating these terms and conditions shall be invalidated and the Company shall reserve the right to delete such story without any notification.
• At the end of the term, 25 best stories shall be selected by a panel constituted by the Company (“Winner”) and these Winners will win the following prizes (“prize”):
o The 25 winning stories will be published in a Pocket Storybook, which will be distributed at the sole discretion of the Company. From these 25 Winners -
o The top 10 Winners will also win Rs 1000/- each
o Next 10 Winners will also win Rs 600/- each
o Next 5 Winners will also win Rs 500/- each
• As part of this Contest, the Contestants who are first to send his/her stories shall be eligible to win the following prizes:
o First 20 valid Contestants get credited with 5 mins of Free Mobile Talk-time to the ibibo community.
o Subsequent 20 valid Contestants get credited with 3 mins of Free Mobile Talk-time to the ibibo community.
o For the above mentioned prize Contestants should note that one Contestant shall be eligible to win only once.
• The panel shall have their own set criteria for selecting the Winners like originality, creativity, characterization, artistic quality etc. Decision of the panel constituted will be final and binding.
•Users of the WAP site will be asked to vote for his/her favorite Contestant. There will be gratification for the highest voters as well:
o The top 3 Voters win cash prize of Rs 500 each/- and get credited with 3 mins of Free Mobile Talk-time to the ibibo community.
o The next 7 top voters will get credited with 3 mins of Free Mobile Talk-time to the ibibo community
• Winner(s) will be announced within 2 weeks from end of the term.
• The Winners will be contacted by via telephone at his/her mobile number given in the profiles created by him/her. Names of the winners shall also be posted on the Company WAP site.
• If the Winner(s) are not contactable on his/her mobile number or no revert from the Winner is received within 3 days after first attempted notification, the Company reserves the right to select an alternative winner(s) and the original Winner's entitlement to the prize will lapse. The Winners, when contacted, must also furnish other details/documents to the Company, as required. Non-submission of proper details/documents within 10 days from date of intimation by the Company to the Winner shall lead to disqualification of the Winner(s) and an alternative Winner(s) shall be chosen thereafter.
• The prizes shall be delivered to the Winner(s) only on receipt and verification of the required documents i.e. copy of the PAN card of the winner(s) and/or any other documents as may be requested for at that point of time. The prize cannot be transferred or exchanged for any other offer. The prize will be delivered to the winner(s) at the address provided by them.
• The Company reserves the right to change the prize due to circumstances beyond our control or to offer an alternative of similar value.
• Contestants agree that by entering this Contest they give the Company and its associates the permission to use his/her stories, with acknowledgement, but with no payment to him/her, on their websites/WAP sites and in a pocket book or for any other purpose as decided by the Company. Should the Contestant’s story be selected for publication in this special pocket book, the Contestants give the editors and publishers of the compilation the right to edit his/her story as they deem appropriate.
• The Company shall reserve the right to use all data, material etc. received as part of this Contest or change, alter, amend, add to, delete from and otherwise modify as the Company may deem fit.
• Contestants consent to comply with these terms and conditions and waive any right to claim ambiguity in these terms and conditions.
• The Company reserves the right to amend the rules of the Contest or extend the period or cancel or discontinue the Contest or any part thereof without giving any reasons or prior notice.
• The Winner will be responsible for tax(es) as payable under this Contest.
• The employees of Company, Service Providers or any associated companies and members of the immediate family of the employees of the Company will not be eligible to participate in the Contest.
• The Company reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
• No correspondence shall be entertained with regard to the Contest.
• Disputes regarding the Contest shall not be entertained by the Company in any manner whatsoever.
• The laws of India govern the Contest. All disputes shall be settled within the jurisdiction of Gurgaon only.
